The Salamandre Cave

At Méjannes-le-Clap, between the Gard and the Ardèche, the Salamandre Cave reveals a gigantic underground chamber decorated with brilliant white formations. It is one of the most spectacular show caves in the south of France.

From Le Moulin Bérénice: About 1 hour by car.

Don’t miss

  • The first view of the great chamber from the viewing platform.
  • The giant formations and white crystals.
  • The unusual tours on offer, such as abseiling down or lamp-lit visits.
  • The nearby Ardèche Gorges, to round off the day.

Good to know

The cave stays cool all year round: bring a jumper, even in summer. Check the cave’s website for opening times and bookings.
