On the outskirts of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Pont de Gau Bird Park takes you into the heart of the Camargue marshes. Its paths wind between ponds and reed beds, a few metres from the flamingos, present all year round, and dozens of other bird species.

From Le Moulin Bérénice: about 1 hour by car.

Don’t miss

  • Flamingos you can watch up close, especially during their spring courtship displays.
  • Herons, egrets, storks and marsh ducks.
  • Easy waymarked paths, suitable for families.
  • Bird hides, to photograph the birds without disturbing them.

Good to know

Spring and autumn are the best seasons for birdwatching. Bring binoculars, a hat and mosquito repellent in summer. Ideally combined with a visit to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
